Saukville, WI - Eleven officers attended the weekend course held at the Fire Station in Saukville and taught by Jack Morrison, the Village of Saukville Emergency Management Director. Morrison is a retired Coast Guard Master Chief whose extensive experience in incidents on water and land added interest and insight to the course exercises.
In addition to the content of the ICS Course (which focused on Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents), Morrison made numerous suggestions on how Civil Air Patrol in Wisconsin might conduct table-top exercises with community or county Emergency Operation Centers and other agencies to experience the Unity of Command in practice. He also offered contacts and suggestions for other venues, which may open opportunities to meet and promote CAP to the 72 county emergency managers in the state.
The ICS-300 course was made possible thru Major Ron Kridle and Capt Gary Mader of the Ozaukee Composite Squadron. Squadron Commander, Major Kridler, and Jack Morrison anounced that there are plans to offer the ICS-400 course in spring. Details will be shared when the logistics have been worked out with the Village of Saukville.
